Middelburg police spokeswoman Captain Khanyisile Zwane said: “The man attracted cops’ attention because his shoes were covered in blood.
“After he was questioned, the 22-year-old suspect confessed that he stabbed the victim to death after a fight over a cigarette.
“He will appear in court today.”
