SANGOMA Caroline Mathe says her ancestors are angry with her.
The 39-year-old from Soshanguve, Tshwane said this was because she was tricked into giving R250 000 and money she made from selling her car to a sangoma known as Timothy.
“I was sitting in my car at Soshanguve Crossing Mall when he came to me and said his ancestors had sent him to tell me there was a problem with my legs. This was true because my legs were always painful,” she said.
Caroline added Timothy told her she had bad luck because of the money she kept in her indumba.
“I went to his house in Soshanguve block L with a trunk filled with money. He poured white powder on a paper and when he blew it off, a phone number appeared,” she said.
Timothy told her the money she brought was not enough and she needed an extra R30 000. He said his ancestors had given him the number on the paper and she should call it to sell her car. “I agreed because I was tired of pain. I sold my car for R20 000 because I was desperate.”
Caroline left the money with Timothy. When she tried to get hold of him the next day he was nowhere to be found. “My ancestors are so angry that I can’t even read the bones.”
Constable Reneilwe Makwalo said Caroline should open a case.
