TEARS flowed when a mum and her two kids were laid to rest on Friday.

Moipolai Montsho (30) and her two sons, Lebogang (2) and Obakeng (9), were buried in Jouberton, North West after allegedly being strangled.

The suspect, Lefa August (46), who was the kids’ dad, hanged himself last Tuesday in Ikageng, where the family was living.

According to Moipolai’s sister, Mantwa Montsho (35), the family was due to return to court for Lefa to appear in connection with allegedly trying to rape his stepdaughter (13).

Speakers at the funeral said Moipolai was a quiet person.

They said the victims’ deaths had left many people shocked.

Mantwa said that Moipolai and Lefa had serious problems in their relationship.

Obakeng’s teacher, Pontsho Malepane, described him as a focused and well mannered pupil.

“When other pupils were playing at school, Obakeng would rather keep himself busy with drawing or take some boxes to create an object,” said Pontsho.

Obakeng was a grade 2 pupil at Dan Tloome Primary School in Ikageng.

In a particularly sad moment, his report card was handed over to his relatives at the funeral service.
