CLAIMS of devil worshipping and kids turning into animals have brought schooling at an Alexandra school in northern Joburg to a halt.
Angry parents of pupils demanded answers from the school’s management on Friday, while pastors held a prayer session to fight the alleged evil spirits.
Chaos erupted at the school last week when it was claimed a small group of pupils had turned into snakes, baboons and even wolves!
One of the “wolves” allegedly bit an innocent child.
Cindy Khumalo said she has three children at the school.
“I was at work when I received a call from my friend that one of my children had turned into a snake and another into a baboon after a Satanic ritual.
“I was scared and rushed to the school. I wanted to see my kids, but school officials had locked the pupils in an office,” she said.
Nonhlanhla Nkabinde said her two children did not go to the school on Friday as they were afraid after seeing strange things on Thursday.
Gauteng education spokesman Oupa Bodibe said: “On Friday our support team went to the school to offer counselling to pupils and teachers. Churches were also at the school for prayer sessions.”
A meeting has been arranged for today at the school to discuss the matter.
“We will work closely with everyone to ensure that teaching is not affected,” Bodibe said.
