ONE man was killed and three others injured on Friday morning, when a truck overturned and hit a roadside barrier on the N2 Highway in Athlone in the Western Cape.

According to ER24, when they arrived on the scene, the truck was leaning against the roadside barriers.

The body of a man was found lying, pinned between the barrier and the truck while three other men were found walking around on the scene.

"Paramedics assessed the man and found that the man pinned between the barriers and truck had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.

Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead," ER24 said.

The three other men were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries.

A specialised Rescue Crane had to be utilised to later lift the truck off the barrier.
