HE BELIEVES his family was happy that he was failing to get a job. But after he appeared in Daily Sun on 4 October selling cars, he claims that his mum and his siblings attacked him.
The 33-year-old Freddie Tsaoane from phase 7 in Mangaung accused his mum of being jealous of his success.
According to Freddie, his family beat him last week and he is now nursing broken ribs.
He said: “My family attacked me because they are jealous of my success. They beat me with stones and bottles.
“Before I appeared in the paper, everything was fine at home but now they have turned against me. My mum started by threatening me and said I will die before her.
“They are my family, but I had to report them to the police for assault because I want them punished for what they did to me.
“I’ve since left my home because I don’t want to die. They broke my ribs and I won’t forgive them for that. My family feels happy when they see me struggling. They broke my TV and speakers.”
Adelina Tsaoane said: “My son said I am a witch and that I want to kill him. How can my own son accuse me of that and even open a case against me.
“I don’t want to kill him.
“Even if he were to come and apologise, I do not think I would forgive him.
“People know me as a witch because of him. He once told me that I have a tokoloshe.”
Police spokeswoman Sergeant Ikobeng Hlubi said a case of malicious damage to property and common assault had been opened.
Three suspects aged 24, 33 and 65 were arrested and they will appear in court soon.
