PORTIA said she remembers how her little girl used to walk around the house singing.
But the sweet voice of two-year-old Mohau Mbiza will never be heard again.
The little girl who loved to sing was electrocuted at her house in Phafola Village outside Mokopane, Limpopo, on Wednesday.
Portia Mbiza (26) said she went to her daughter’s bedroom to make her bed and Mohau wandered off.
“She went to the dining-room but after a few minutes she was quiet.
“I wondered why and went to see what was going on. There she was, lying unconscious on the floor. Her eyes were huge.
“When I touched her, I got shocked as well,” said Portia.
But she managed to pull Mohau away from the electricity and ran with her to Joe Slovo Clinic about a kilometre away.
“My baby died in my arms.
“My bond with her was very strong.
“She never wanted to leave my side and now God has taken her,” she said.
“I will always remember her as a loving child.”
Portia said the child didn’t make any sound when she was electrocuted.
She said the wires lying on the floor to connect appliances were all properly wired.
“The wires were connected correctly. I just don’t know what went wrong,” she told Daily Sun.
The family is hoping to bury her this weekend but they needSunReaders’ help to assist them to bury the toddler.
Police spokesman Constable Sello Leso confirmed that an inquest docket is being investigated.
