THREE months ago, 12-year-old Nkosinathi Obisi was sent to the
shops by his gogo and fell into the hands of evil men.
The young boy was almost killed for muthi.
BUT NKOSINATHI’S A FIGHTER AND HAS MADE AN AMAZING
RECOVERY!
After he had walked with them for a while, they grabbed him and took him under the bridge, where they mutilated him and left him for dead.
Luckily he was found by a passing man and rescued. Nkosinathi spent three long months at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Tshwane before finally returning home on Friday.
His gogo, Olinda (50) couldn’t hold back her excitement when she spoke about his recovery.
“I don’t have the words to say how happy I am to see him back home. He’s a very strong boy and smart as well. He has overcome something most grown-ups wouldn’t be able to.
“We thank God that he has spared Nkosinathi for us.”
Two of the men suspected of having mutilated the child have been arrested while the third one is still on the run.
The boy’s mkhulu, George Juwawa (66), said he hoped the culprits would rot in jail.
“The men who did this must never see the light again. What they did to my grandson is really terrible. We are happy he is back home in our care and we will protect him with everything we have,” he said.
“We want to thank the doctors and everyone who has contributed towards his recovery.”
However, George and Olinda said the family was still concerned about Nkosinathi’s mental health.
“We are very disappointed to see no social worker has come to visit us. It’s as if everybody has forgotten about the terrible ordeal my grandson went through. We just need support and help so that he can go back to being his old self,” said gogo Olinda.
SAPS provincial spokesman, Captain Kay Makhubela, confirmed a case against two suspects.
“Two were arrested some time after the incident.
“A case of attempted murder was opened.
“The suspects have appeared several times in court and they still remain in custody,” said Makhubela.
