INSEPARABLE friends Luyanda Msomi (10) and Njabulo Mankayi (10) were buried on Saturday.
Their bodies were found dumped in separate places.
Two suspects will appear in the Durban Magistrates Court today.
Njabulo was buried yesterday in Matatiele, Eastern Cape, and Luyanda at Jolivet in Umzinto on the KZN South Coast.
Breaking his silence after his son’s funeral, Luyanda’s father Terence (37) said he didn’t think murderers are normal.
“I think they are walking demons. If I had my way I would impose the death penalty,” he said.
“To be honest, I wish they could just vanish and never be in my sight ever again. I’m really not ready to see them.”
Terence told Daily Sun he felt better after having finally buried his son.
He said the two boys spent most of their time together, even outside of school.
“Honestly, I was never close to Njabulo’s parents. But I knew him because he often came to my house to visit Luyanda,” said Terence.
“I used to sometimes take them to school together in my car.”
Njabulo’s decomposed body was found floating at Grunter Gully Canal in Bayhead. He was allegedly poisoned and strangled. Luyanda was allegedly strangled and dumped in the bushes near the railway line in Clairwood. His body was found a few days before Njabulo’s.
They went missing two weeks ago on their way from school. A woman (28), an ex-girlfriend of Njabulo’s father, and her friend were arrested and allegedly confessed.
The woman had allegedly consulted a traditional healer who wanted the blood of her ex-boyfriend’s relative so he could mix a love potion for her.
The healer has been arrested and will appear alongside the two women tomorrow.
