THE BROTHER of a woman (24) who was allegedly shot and killed by her baby daddy, say the suspect is abusive and rude.
Khethiwe and her mother Ncamisile Xulu (41) were killed at their house in Ekwazini, Kranskop following a short heated argument with the suspect.
Khethiwe’s younger brother, Sakhile (23), who was at home when the incident happened, claimed the man (36) physically had abused his sister on countless occasions and had no respect for their family.
He claimed the suspect is a teacher at a school in the area and used to beat his sister and then swear at their parents when they tried to intervene.
He claimed they were surprised when he came to their house on Thursday night as both families had agreed to meet at the weekend to discuss the difficult relationship.
“He came with his usual rude behaviour. When my sister and my mum asked what he wanted, he said he was going to teach them who he really was.
“He pulled out a gun and started shooting in their direction before fleeing from the scene,” said Sakhile.
He said the entire family used to ask Khethiwe why she was sticking with an abusive man, but she wouldn’t ever give them an answer.
Sakhile said they don’t know how they are going to bury his mother and sister as none of the members of the family were working.
Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane said Kranskop cop shop arrested the suspect on Friday.
He was charged with two counts of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm, as well as ammunition. He will appear in court today.
