A CASE of defeating the ends of justice has been registered against suspended National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega.
National cop spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi confirmed the case had been registered, but would not be drawn on the details.
“We can confirm a case was registered, but are unable to provide any further information as this is a case that is still under
investigation,” he said.
It was still unclear on what grounds Phiyega had been accused of defeating the ends of justice.
In October 2013, Phiyega was also accused of defeating the ends of justice and was investigated by police watchdog the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.
But the director of public prosecutions declined to pursue the case in court. – NEWS24
