A NUMBER of bodies have been found on a dangerous mountain in Gauteng.
Last month three bodies were removed from the mountain and two more people were assaulted and left for dead.
This has led to residents of Lehae in Lenasia, Joburg living in fear. They have demanded that something be done to stop the killings.
Community policing forum leader Allwel Radebe said the latest body was found on Saturday. He said the people who were murdered last month had been stabbed or hanged.
According to Allwel, a group of residents went up the mountain earlier this year to investigate.
“We found items used by people in Satanic cults. It’s very scary to think about the things going on up there,” he said.
He told the People’s Paper that since 2013 about 10 bodies had been found on the mountain. Last year a girl was discovered crucified and a man had been burnt to death.
The girl was identified but to this day no one knows who the man was.
“Residents are concerned that the number of killings is rising. We don’t know who the killers are and we don’t feel safe at all,” said Allwel.
Police Captain Mbulaheni Netshivhodza confirmed that a number of bodies were found on the mountain last year and that three were found last month.
“The latest body was found on Saturday – the victim had been stabbed. No one has been arrested yet,” he said.
