THE Ngobeni family has not had peace for a long time.
The family even thought of selling their house in Slovoville, near Lebanon, Tshwane.
On Friday morning, Thandi Ngobeni (48) woke up her husband and children to pray. While they were praying, they heard something moving under the bed.
When Thandi and her husband lifted the bed they found a strange creature.
“My children have been battling to get some sleep and I’ve been fighting with my husband for no reason,” said the mother of five.
Thandi, who sells cold drinks, snacks and meat from her house was even thinking of closing her business.
“I believe jealous people are behind this. They think I’m making a lot money but that’s not the case. I’m just trying to provide for my kids.”
The creature was later killed and burned by members of the community.
“We are a religious family. We hope God will give us strength so things can go back to normal.”
Sangoma Dabulamanzi Sithole said: “I advise the family to call someone to do a thorough search to make sure no other creature or muthi was left behind.”
SPCA inspector Mike Allen said: “Some animals are endangered and must be protected.
“We urge people to call us so we can save such animals and give them new homes.”
