SOCIAL media goes crazy every time Skolopad appears at an event wearing a little bit less.
But not everyone is happy!
Sangoma Phillistus Motlhasedi has slammed the trend, saying sangomas’ powers to heal are being drained by women who dress maponapona.
She said two women in particular were to blame – Zodwa Wabanthu and Skolopad. They have been proudly showing off their bodies nearly naked in public.
Phillistus, from Alexandra, north of Joburg, who’s been a sangoma for years, said: “The African soil has never had people walking almost naked. It disturbs the healing process.
“The maponapona of such women is not African and it disrespects the way our ancestors raised us.”
She warned the women that when they grew old they will regret the time they entertained the world and they won’t be able to turn back the time.
“They will be haunted in a very bad way.
“They will cry for having disrespected their ancestors and they will not make it up with time.”
Zodwa hit back, calling on the sangoma to rather seek Jesus.
“I don’t believe in ancestors. The sangoma needs prayers,” she said.
Zodwa, whose real name is Zodwa Libram, said she sleeps peacefully at night after doing what she does.
“I don’t kill anyone so I don’t see any offence in showing what my mama gave me.”
She also encouraged the sangoma to follow her on Instagram and watch what she will bring to parties this festive season.
“I’ve just started. People must wait for even more pictures of my beautiful body.”
Skolopad, whose real name is Nonhlanhla Qwabe, is a nurse in QwaQwa. She told the People’s Paper yesterday she’s never believed in slaughtering goats.
“The sangoma is losing it. I don’t believe in those things.”
She said her father is a priest and she’ll ask him to pray for the sangoma to again have her healing powers.
“My maponapona life is none of her business. She needs to focus on healing people. That’s her business.”
