MBUSO Mthimkhulu is a very angry man.
The 69-year-old from Leondale in Ekurhuleni says his tenant is trying to kick him out of his house!
Madala Mbuso said he met the tenant Mpelisie Nakasa (35) when he was looking for a place to stay in 2013.
“I told him I had a small room to rent out. He lived there for a year before he told me he wanted to buy a portion of the yard,” said Mbuso.
“He offered me R31 900, which seemed like a reasonable deal as my yard is very big and there was a lot of space.”
The two went to town planning consultants to ask for permission to sub-divide the yard but it was denied. “I then received a letter from Mpelisie’s lawyer saying I had sold the house to him. I realised he was a con artist because I never agreed to that,” said Mbuso.
“I offered him his money back but he refused, saying we had made an agreement. The next thing I knew, he had brought his whole family and was building rooms and toilets in the yard without consulting me. I’m old and sick. I don’t need this stress in my life. I just want this man gone so I can live peacefully in my own house.”
Mpelisie said: “That old man is lying. He sold me a portion of the yard and I have all the documents to prove it. I gave him way more than R31 900.”
When asked what it would take for him to leave the madala’s yard, Mpelisie said he would not accept less than R500 000.
