THE young magosha was clearly in pain, holding her left arm.
She told Daily Sun she was involved in a car crash the night before.
“We were on our way to offer our services to clients when our taxi crashed,” she said.
“The broken glass cut my arm so deeply I could see the bone. I was taken to hospital and got stitches.”
After spending a night at Sebokeng Hospital in the Vaal, she was back on the streets.
“I’m forced to come here and earn a living. I want to quit but I need the money.”
The magosha said she had only been on the street for a month. Her friend, a struggling mum of two, introduced her to the business.
“I think I won’t be able to leave prostitution because I don’t have any option,” she said.
While she was talking to the People’s Paper a car stopped, and she ran to the waiting client.
She came back after 45 minutes.
“I think the guy wants to kill himself. He didn’t want sex. He wanted to talk about his girlfriend and paid me for my time,” she said.
The young magoshas said they offer sex to motorists and taxi drivers on the Welgevonden road between Evaton and Orange Farm.
They said they charge R40 for one round.
- The Sex Workers Education and Advocacy Taskforce has always called for the decriminalisation of sex work in Mzansi.
They also want fair and safe working conditions for the magoshas.
