HE MOVED quickly from one room to the other looking for valuables.

Finally his bag was full of Sharon’s belongings, and he was ready to slip out the back door.

BUT THE DUMB THUG FELT HUNGRY!

He was so tempted by the eggs and the bread in the kitchen that he decided to make himself breakfast – and that’s how he ended up with egg on his face!

He started frying eggs, buttered two slices of bread and got ready for an early morning feast.

But he never got to eat the breakfast!

When gogo Sharon came home to her house in Etwatwa, Benoni, Ekurhuleni on Thursday morning she found the thug in the kitchen, still frying the eggs.

She called the neighbours, who rushed to the scene and proceeded to moer the suspect with whatever they could lay their hands on, including bricks, sjamboks, belts and metal objects.

They even poured water over his head.

Cops found him drenched, bruised, bleeding and in pain.

Sharon (43) said she was grateful that the community responded in time and was happy to have found her things.

“I’m glad he was taught a good lesson.”

An angry neighbour said they are tired of people stealing their things.

“They target our houses and do as they please. We work hard for our things and then they come and take them as if they are theirs,” she said.

Sharon told Daily Sun it wasn’t the first time thugs had broken into her house.

“Thugs forced their way into my house through the garage door in February last year and were never found.

“We are tired of waiting for cops to fix things.

“The thugs get arrested today but by tomorrow, you see them back on the streets as if they had never been caught,” said another resident.

The thug is facing housebreaking charges and the case is being investigated by Etwatwa cops.
