A WHITE Toyota Tazz blocked his way.
He thought he was being hijacked, so he sped off really fast. Adam Yahaya alleges the car followed him and eventually managed to block his way. The 46-year-old from Kagiso, outside Krugersdorp, said he was then given a fine for disobeying traffic cops.
“I was on my way to work. I stopped at a stop sign, observed and then as I was about to make my way, a white Tazz stood in front of me.
“Out of fear of being hijacked, I sped off really fast but they followed me. They gave me a ticket for R1 000,” he said.
Adam said he tried to reason with the officers, but they would not buy his story.
Adam told Daily Sun because he knew this was wrong, he went to the Kagiso Police Station, where they refused to open a case for him. He said the media was his last resort to be heard because he does not have R1 000 to pay the fine.
“I have a wife and kids that I feed.”
Edna Mamonyane, the JMPD’s spokeswoman, said they do not have a Toyota Tazz in the department.
“Adam must go to the police station so he alerts people about this Tazz. We must all know about it so we can start working towards arresting these people,” she said.
