THE #ZumaMustFall movement called on President Jacob Zuma to quit before yesterday’s state of the nation address.
Organiser Christelle Scheepers told marchers in Cape Town that their protest was staged to “voice our dissatisfaction at how South Africa is being run”.
She said Zuma must retire and resign in a “gentlemanly” way as he had shown “poor leadership”.
Asked if Zuma would listen to them, Scheepers said: “We are a democratic nation.
“We are allowed to voice our opinion.”
She said they would one day say that they did something to save the country from being taken to the dogs by Zuma’s poor leadership.
She said the movement was fighting as the ANC had fought the apartheid government.
Another movement leader told marchers that Zuma failed South Africa through a weak justice system and should leave office since he appointed “incompetent” police commissioners.
