FAIR EXCHANGE IS NO ROBBERY: Johannes in the sangoma’s indumba. He will not allow the sangoma back until he honours their arrangement.
WHEN THE sangoma asked for more money because the spiritual highways were jammed, Johannes put his foot down.
He refused to carry on being the healer’s money machine.
THIS TIME THE FAKE SANGOMA HAD PICKED ON THE WRONG GUY.
“He’s got my money, but I’ve got his indumba!” said Johannes Ntsele (44), standing at the door of the sangoma’s indumba with the lock in his hand.
He said he will hold the sangoma’s indumba
hostage until the healer gives him his money back.
Johannes told Daily Sun a story that many people in Mzansi know very well.
He said his problems started two weeks ago when he had a burglary at his house in Doornfontein, Joburg.
“Two weeks ago thugs broke into my house and stole R3 000 and some appliances,” said the angry Johannes.
“A friend told me about Musa, a traditional healer in the CBD who has a spell that makes stolen goods come back to the owner.”
Johannes said he met the sangoma and paid him R3 000, but soon Musa wanted another R3 000. The healer said this was because there was a “traffic jam” in the spiritual world and a further payment was needed to “clear the roads”.
“I was suspicious, but I was also desperate. I had worked so hard for my belongings and I wanted them back,” Johannes said. More money changed hands and he waited patiently for another week. But then Musa started giving Johannes excuses and even ignored his calls completely.
Johannes realised that he was being ripped off and he decided to take action.
“I went to his indumba to tell him to give me my money back.
“He said I must wait in his indumba while he went to the bank to draw out the money,” said Johannes. “I waited for three hours and then I realised that he was not coming back.”
Johannes went to a hardware shop and he bought a bolt and heavy-duty locks. And then he locked the indumba . Now Johannes patrols the indumba when he is not at work, checking regularly to see if the crook healer has returned to it.
“Before and after work I scout the place to see if it is still locked. I will keep patrolling the area until he comes back. He cannot run away forever,” said Johannes.
“These fong-kong ‘healers’ think everyone is just going to roll over and allow them to run away with their money. Not me!
“If this guy wants to come back to his office he must either give me my money back or deliver on his promise and make my stuff come back.”
Daily Sun called the sangoma many times, but he never answered his phone.
SAPS spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng said: “If a fake healer runs away with a person’s money they can open a case of theft and false pretences.”
