WHEN the economic Freedom fighter in Limpopo are busy preparing for their Tshela thupa rally their Chairman Mike Mathebe just throw a bombshell and defected back to the ANC Mathebe was welcomed today at Frans Mohlala house by the Secretary General of the ANC Gwede Mantashe.

Mathebe was the EFF MPL in Limpopo Legislature and the party's leader in the province.

He stated that he had to return to the ANC because the policies of the EFF are only real on theory but no practical. “It is true that it is cold outside the ANC, I had to come back. I was convinced during the formation of the EFF that their strategies and policies are legit but that is only in theory, when coming to practical there is no such. I was not working for the ANC in the EFF as some asked but I went to them with a hope of change. I am happy to be welcomed back home, I was lost,” said Mathebe.

When welcoming him Mantashe said ANC remains the only party that people can trust.

"We welcome Mike Mathebe back in the ANC because that’s where he belongs, it is his home. Mathebe will help the party like other party members,” he said.

Mantashe also touched on the fight between the ANCYL and the party’s provincial Chairman Stan Mathabatha on the announcement of Choris Phokane as the Mayoral candidate for Tubatse municipality. He said the NEC has ruled on the matter that the mayoral candidate will be Phokane.

However, some members of the Youth League who attended the media briefing were complaining that the matter was not discussed with them.

They however did not want to talk to the media regarding the matter but were overheard saying the matter fight is still on they don’t accept the decision. “With who was the matter discussed because we have never been engaged on the matter. This is matter is not over,” said one youth league member.
