accreditation

A COUPLE strolling on a busy street suddenly heard a loud sound.

After the dust had settled, a 41-year-old man had been knocked down by a vehicle while his partner was screaming for help.

The driver of the car came out crying, claiming he had been bewitched!

The incident happened on Saturday in Phase 7 in Mangaung kasi. It is alleged that the driver, who was travelling alone, lost control of the car, which then started to roll and hit the pedestrian.

Witness Malerato Buso said: “I was standing on the pavement when I saw a speeding car coming in my direction.

“The driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle and it hit the man.

“The driver seemed to be drunk and started crying, saying he had been bewitched.”

An ambulance was called to the scene and the injured man was taken to hospital. When Daily Sun arrived at the scene the 39-year-old driver said: “My car started flying and hit the pedestrian. I was not even speeding. I did not hit him, my flying car did. It was not my fault.”

Police spokeswoman Sergeant Ikobeng Hlubi said: “A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened. The driver was arrested at the scene.”
