THE greatest legacy you can leave people is wisdom through education.

That is according to Dikeledi Moletsane (70) from Sharpeville in the Vaal.

On Saturday, the gogo retired after devoting 10 years to running the no-fees Sharpeville Noah Daycare creche for unemployed mums who rely on social grants.

Dikeledi told Daily Sun the staff held a farewell party for her after she decided to leave because her husband had a stroke.

“I was very happy to be honoured by the staff with a certificate of appreciation.”

The event was held at Roda Yende community hall, where many residents came to bid her farewell.

The gogo said she has a right to be happy after running the creche. “I’m happy with the years I spent sowing the seeds of education but my joy is knowing my dream has been fulfilled. All I wanted was to touch many lives. Today I can say I am reaping the rewards of my efforts.

“Some of the kids who were here when we started are now in grade nine, which is a blessing for me.”

Dikeledi told mums to be their kids’ directors. “Look after your kids and make sure you lead a worthy life.”
