WHEN Promise Selepe gave birth to her son 19 years ago she was overjoyed.

But now the mum from extension 2 near Dawn Park, Ekurhuleni is miserable because of what she says is a creature that moves around in her son’s body, tormenting him.

According to Primrose, her son Andile gets nose bleeds and faints when the creature moves.

“This has been happening since he was five,” she said.

“He has not grown up like other kids because I had to look after him all the time. I can’t work because he needs me.

“He faints a lot and doctors have told me he has epilepsy. They gave him pills but his condition has worsened.”

Promise said Andile had to go to hospital for his medication every month.

Doctor Mpho Mushadu said epilepsy symptoms differ from one patient to another.

“It’s a chronic condition, which means it can only be controlled and not cured. It may be that Andile’s dose needs to be adjusted,” he said.

“I also recommend that he gets a brain scan. I believe with the right dose his condition can be controlled.”

However, traditional healer Mahlinza Dlamini said Andile’s condition could have been sent to him by someone.

“The family must act fast. The thing in his stomach may be a frog or a snake. He might have been given something evil to eat. They must see someone who can destroy what is in his stomach,” said Dlamini.
