TSHWANE North cops celebrated their different cultures last week.
The Gauteng police annual Heritage Day celebration was held at Bundu Inn, Ga-Rankuwa on Friday.
The cops were dressed in Tswana, Xitsonga, Sotho and other traditional clothes.
Major-General Hilder Mohajane, the Tshwane North cluster commander, said it was important to celebrate the day by uniting Africans.
“We need to show off our cultures without fear of victimisation.
“This should remind us to appreciate our shared identity as Africans, and to embrace each other’s cultures and heritage.”
She encouraged the police to respect and understand other people’s cultures.
“Understanding each others’ cultures enhances service delivery.
“It is good for us to get to know and understand our clients and co-workers, regardless of their race,” said Mohajane.
