AT NIGHT, cops at the charge office battle to work because of a broken door.
When it rains, they move away from the charge office.
For weeks, the main door at Loate Police Station in Tshwane has been broken and it looks as it won’t be fixed soon.
A policewoman said it was hard to work at the charge office.
“Whenever I think of that door, I don’t want to go to work. It’s making our jobs hard, especially at night,” she said.
“We decided to get help from Daily Sun because no one seems to take us seriously at the police station.
“This problem needs to be urgently solved.”
Residents also complained about the door.
Koketso Makuya (29) said when it’s raining, it is hard for residents to get into the station.
“Something needs to be done.”
She said they’ve complained about it, but nothing happened.
“Some officers told us that there was nothing they could do about the door.
“How can simple thing take so long to be fixed?” she asked.
Station commander Colonel Edwin Lelaka said they’ve already organised people to fix the door.
“We are working on the matter.” He said he was disappointed with the officers’ behaviour.
“This is an internal issue.
“They can’t run to media and complain about this because they know the right procedures to be followed.”
