IF Sam Meyiwa is to be believed, Pirates’ days of pain on the soccer field are far from over!
He said Bucs will not win a trophy until someone is bust for his son’s murder, and Orlando Pirates bosses stop ignoring him when he asks for help.
“I dream of my son in a dark place. That will bring bad luck to the team that was so close to his heart,
“My son loved Orlando Pirates. He was a strong supporter. That is why he worked so hard to make sure the team did not lose. But he died like a dog and nobody has been arrested. His soul is not at peace and he’s haunting Pirates for this,” said Sam.
The team is out of the Telkom Knockout Cup after losing 4-2 to Polokwane City on Saturday. It last won a trophy in 2014, when Senzo was still alive.
Sam said he has been trying to reach Bucs’ management to ask for help but he is ignored.
Administrative manager Floyd Mbele said he didn’t want to discuss Sam’s comments. “I don’t wish to comment or answer questions about this. Sam’s comments about Orlando Pirates are unfortunate.”
Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said the investigation into Senzo’s murder is continuing but no one has been bust yet.
Traditional Healers’ Association president Sazi Mhlongo said Pirates must speak to Sam to find a way forward. “They must discuss the issue and get a strong nyanga to perform a ritual and ask Senzo’s spirit not to haunt the team.”
Cultural expect Velaphi “VVO” Mkhize said dead people can affect something they used to love while they were alive. “They hold on to that thing and make changes to send a message about how they feel.”
