SHE was tipsy and wanted something salty.

She didn’t have money to buy meat to braai, but she spotted a goat grazing nearby so she dragged it to her house.

Ntombekhaya Zulu (45) from Rondebult, Ekurhuleni, invited her friends, saying she was having a party. Her neighbour Buyisile Bomvu (53) was attracted by the smell of braaing meat.

When he arrived at Ntombekhaya’s house, he discovered it was his goat that was being braaied!

He told the woman to either pay R8 000 or go to jail. The woman begged him not to open a case and promised to pay the money.

“I lost two goats in a space of two weeks and one of the goats was pregnant,” said angry Buyisile.

“She’s probably the one who has been stealing my goats.”

Ntombekhaya admitted to killing the goat.

“I wanted meat because I was drunk. I invited my friends and we killed the goat to braai the meat.

“But I don’t want them to be in trouble because they didn’t steal the goat, I did. I’m saving money to pay up for what I took. I was caught red-handed.”

The matter was taken to local community leaders where the two signed an agreement.
