accreditation

A six-month-old baby has died after being bitten by a dog!

This happened in Primrose, Ekurhuleni on Wednesday.

When paramedics arrived on the scene earlier on Wednesday morning, the baby boy had already succumbed to his injuries.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Primrose Police Station Sergeant Styles Maome confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened.

“The granny was about to leave the house with the baby,” he said.

“She put the child on car seat. While she was about to open the door, the family dog attacked the child and mauled the child on the head. The child died on the scene. An inquest docket was opened for investigation. “

The granny was taken to hospital to be treated for shock, he also said.

ER24’s Russel Meiring said: “Paramedics were let into a lounge of a home where they found the body of a child.

“We immediately assessed the boy and saw that he had sustained several serious bite wounds and showed no signs of life. Nothing more could be done for him and he was declared dead.”
