FAMOUS fast walker Patrick “BMW” Mulaudzi has a wish.
The 40-year-old from Limpopo would love to get a walk-for-health opportunity one day with President Jacob Zuma!
The snappy dresser is one of those people who doesn’t have to worry about transport money.
He got his nickname because he can easily get from point A to point B, no matter how far it is. Daily Sun caught up with him on Saturday as he took part in a 10km fun walk to raise funds for rhino poaching in Polokwane.
“I’m very happy to have walked the 10km for a good cause,” he said.
BMW said when he started walking it was just for fun. “With time, I got to realise how important it is for my health. I now want to do it to help the poor.”
BMW said he started walking when he was nine.
Reuben Mosefuwa of Mosefuwa Administrators Group recently decided to sponsor him and make sure BMW takes part in as many fundraising events as possible to earn some money.
“He must earn a living. We would like him to be a good health ambassador and teach people about the benefits of walking.
“It helps prevent disease and obesity.”
Race organiser Corrie Calitz from Polokwane Athletics Club said the aim was to educate people about rhinos. “The money raised will go towards anti-poaching campaigns.”
