LIMPOPO Emergency Services rescued a baby who was heard crying inside a pit toilet at Matlala Mangwai village, outside Polokwane.
The Limpopo Department of Health spokesperson Thabiso Teffo said emergency services responded by dispatching an ambulance and rescue team to the scene.
The emergency services managed to rescue new born baby boy.
Teffo said after cleaning and checking the vital organs of the baby, he was found to be in good health.
The baby was then transferred to WF Knobel hospital for observation.
Teffo said the police are busy investigating the incident.
The MEC of Health in Limpopo, Dr Phophi Ramathuba congratulated the officials for the great work.
