ACCUSED IN COFFIN CASE REAPPLY FOR BAIL

accreditation

THE two men who were seen in a video forcing Victor Mlotshwa into a coffin and threatening to set him alight have been sent back to the cells.

The accused, Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen, reapplied for bail in the Middelburg Magistrates Court yesterday. The hearing continues today.

The People’s Paper published Mlotshwa’s sad story last month after receiving the video. During their previous court appearance on 16 November, the two men abandoned their bail application.

They are facing charges of kidnapping and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The incident happened in August at JM de Beer Boerdery, near Komati power station in Mpumalanga.

The case was originally postponed to 25 January.
