THE SABC is said to be ready to bring its prodigal son back to the small screen!
This after the powers that be at the public broadcaster and the ANC Youth League (ANCYL), showed support to bringing Bonginkosi “Zola 7” Dlamini back to TV.
According to sources, Zola 7 will meet SABC COO, Hlaudi Motsoeneng, next week.
This with the aim to discuss his comeback.
A source at the SABC told Sunday Sun: “The SABC and Zola need each other. At the moment, all we know is the guy will be back on our screens.
“Top government officials have been backing the move to bring him back.”
Njabulo Nzuza, secretary general of the ANCYL, said they fully support the move..
“The ANCYL supports the return of Zola to our TV Screens and we will continue to lobby the public Broadcaster to do so.
Our view is supporters by the fact that the show Zola 7 gave hope and inspiration to many young South Africans. The show also assisted a lot of Young People who experienced a number of problems and provided solutions for them.”
Hlaudi could not confirm or deny the claims. When contacted by the SunTeam, he said: “I can’t comment on that right now... I can’t.”
When approached for comment, Zola 7 said: “I can’t comment.”
