GETTING known in the entertainment industry can be tough.
But comedian Siyabulela Deli (20) wasn’t going to wait around for a lucky break.
He decided to use the latest social media technology to his advantage to create his own comedy show.
He markets himself and his skills to his fans.
The actor, comedian and video blogger, also known as TaFire, already has hundreds of followers on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
He uses all three platforms to share his work with the public.
Siyabulela was born in Nelson Mandela Bay and moved to Joburg to pursue the funny business.
He told Daily Sun as a child he knew he wanted to be a comedian, but that he only started sending around his video blogs in February this year.
“I was that kid who never took things seriously and was always joking at school. Teachers loved me for that.
“The aim of my video blogs is to make people laugh.
“Laughter is a good thing – people need to loosen up sometimes.
“I decided to use social media as it is the best platform to put my art out. People who find my stuff funny share it with others.
“I saw a video made by Owen Sithole on Instagram.
“He’s the one who inspired me to do my own videos.
“It’s not all about fun though, as I hope my blogs will take me somewhere in life within the entertainment industry.
I know the competition is tough, but I won’t give up. Comedy is my passion.”
He is known to fans as Themba in the drama The Road and has appeared in Isibaya as Chippa.
