SOULFUL, award-winning jazz singer Wanda Baloyi’s alter ego is taking over.

The Indoda singer – who is also a beast on the decks – has re-invented herself as a house DJ called Queen Choco.

She is set to introduce her deejaying side at a unique concert she is hosting with friends tomorrow at Indigo Sky in Honeydew, northern Joburg.

Queen Choco will also be launching her new dance single, Vamos Acordar , a Portuguese phrase meaning, “Let’s wake up”.

Wanda said the birth of Queen Choco was inspired by her successful collaboration with international, award-winning DJ and producer Louie Vega in 2015 on a remix of her single, Kisses

“Choco was born out of curiosity and a desire to explore my musical range by collaborating with a wide range of musicians, DJs and dancers.”

Wanda began her music career with an all girl group, Ghetto Luv, and released her debut solo album, Voices, in 2003 to worldwide critical acclaim.

The event starts at 6pm.

Tickets cost R50 at the door.
