GOSPEL star Khaya Mthethwa will record his first live DVD next month.
Khaya shot to fame in 2012 after winning Idols SA season eight.
He told SunBuzz that he had been waiting for the right time to record the live DVD.
“It took me and my production team about five months to prepare the whole thing. The reason I took so long to record was that I was busy with other projects. I also had to wait for the right moment so I could focus all my energy on the live recording,” said Khaya.
The KZN-born singer said his fans should expect the best live recording.
“We’ve prepared an explosive show for those who will be at the shoot. I’ll be performing songs from The Uprising album and new songs that I’ve composed especially for the live recording. The aim of the shoot is to positively impact people through God’s work,” said Khaya, who has worked with Joyous Celebration.
He said he will feature gospel greats such as Ntokozo Mbambo, Nqubeko Mbatha and Mahalia
Buchanan.
“I’ll also perform with a five piece band and eight backing vocalists.”
- The event will take place at the Durban Christian Centre Jesus Dome in KZN on 4 December.
Tickets are available at Computicket from R200.
