BOJO MUJO may be long dead and buried – but his memory is forever etched on the hearts of his family and fans.
This weekend, his family unveiled his expensive tombstone in Modimolle, Limpopo, where the star was born and now lies buried.
The tombstone, said to have cost thousands, was erected by Manyano Memorials together with House Music Therapy and B3 Funerals.
Funeral director Themba Makamo (33) said Bojo’s older brother, Sello Lehlake (44), approached them.
He said Sello told them he wanted to do something memorable for his brother.
“We agreed with him and his family that we would design and erect a tombstone for the dead star.
“We have been working on the stone portrait since April,” said Themba.
He said music lovers and friends came in droves to attend the unveiling.
Makamo added: “Bojo was an entertainer.
“He brought joy and happiness to many people’s lives across the country.
“He was an inspiration to the youth in the small town of Phagameng, where he came from.
It was therefore important for us, his family and the entire nation to design and erect a stone befitting the musician and DJ.” “
Speaking on behalf of the family, Sello said they were happy with the support from all those who contributed to the unveiling.
“The family paid for the stone but the portrait was done at a discounted price.
“We thank all those people who have been supporting us from the day my brother died.
“People like Dr Malinga have been supporting us, though he was unable to attend due to prior commitments,” said Sello.
Bojo became famous for his debut album Shiwelele in 2003, as well as the house remix he made of Craig David’s 2007 hit Summer Jam.
