THE sky is the limit for well-known actress Sophie Ndaba. She has now ventured into the world of festivals.
She said organising an event alone is not easy. So she has joined forces with Tiny Mashilwane of Sister T promotions, to tackle the task dominated by men.
They have proven to be lionesses in the fields by creating successful annual lifestyle events.
Sophie said that she will be working with Sister T specifically on two events.
“We will do the Tshwane All White Soul and Jazz Festival on 16 December. That is the highlight of all events. We will also host the official launch of the New Year’s Day picnic called Tshwane 1st Soul Picnic on 1
January.
January.
Both events will be hosted at the Bundu Inn in Akasia, northern Tshwane.”
Robbie Malinga, Musa, Zahara, Judith Sephuma, Solly Mahlangu, Joe Sheremane, Zonke, Oliver Mtukudzi, Micasa, Solly Moholo, Nathi and Kelly Khumalo will perform at the All White Festival.
She said the New Year’s picnic will be hosted for people who want to take time out after the busy December holidays.
“This is where people will listen to soul music played by Metro FM DJs, Amon Mokoena and Ismail Ibrahams.”
Sophie said the events will empower local artists and vendors.
“There will be a line-up of local artists. Food, drinks and ice will be sold at the event at reasonable prices.
“We will share with other people and not take everything for ourselves.”
She said the event will also promote Arrive Alive.
“People must plan in advance for their lives. If they know that they are going to drink, they must arrange for someone to pick them up.”
