Local entertainer Nonhlanhla Qwabe - better known as Skolopad - shocked fans when she announced that she will be preaching during a church service tonight.

Skolopad first popped onto our radar when she attended the Metro FM awards wearing a very revealing yellow dress, earlier this year. But the actress who is known for flashing her butt tattoo and wearing thigh high slits, debuted a more toned-down look at The Durban July, calling it the rebirth of Skolopad.

The local entertainer also rebranded herself as: Queen Skolopad.

But Nonhlanhla - who is also a nurse - says, people don't know the real her, as her friends and family have always viewed her as a spiritual person: "When I started singing, the people close to me were surprised. They thought I would release a gospel album, "Skolopad" came as a big shock to them."

Speaking to The Juice she said: "Yes, I sing gospel, and I also love dancing. I wanted to accommodate everyone."

But this new journey is not an unexpected one, as the Umzimba singer's father is pastor. "I have religious roots as a pastor's child," she said.

This will also not be the first time the singer will be standing behind the pulpit as she has preached before.
Explaining her decision to accept Pastor Lerato's request, she says: "I wanted people to understand that I still have that human part, that I believe in God. People might think that I'm not a worshiper and I wanted them to know the real me."

She goes on to say that her mother once told her that if she continues to embody the persona of "this animal" [Skolopad] then the good things in her life might take slower to happen and that she will encounter obstacles.

This is also the inspiration for her sermon, the title being "Where is God in your secret storm." She goes on to elaborate on the four "storms" she will be unpacking, "health, emotional, physical and financial."

She will be quoting verses and sing during her sermon.
