SCA NDAL! actor Mbulelo Katise (21) is a man of many
talents.
Well known as Sicelo on the e.tv soapie, Mbulelo recently launched
a clothing label called Nu Tribe.
The launch in Sandton, north of Joburg, was attended by close
friends, young designers and artists like poet Botlhale Boikanyo, who plays
Mbulelo’s sister on set.
Botlhale recited a poem dedicated to Nu Tribe.
“My clothing label has been influenced by the different types of
music I grew up listening to.
“It is not limited by culture, age, race or sex.
“The label is for free thinkers who are not afraid of who they
are,” said Mbulelo at the launch.
His style has a true tribal feel, with trims and button designs
that are culturally inspired.
“We have two ranges – street wear and couture, which costs between
R150 and R650.”
His clothes can be found online and at various pop-up stores
around
Gauteng. Nu Tribe started last year and employs a team of 17 people between the age of 20 and 25.

Model Mihlali Adam (20), the ambassador for Nu Tribe, said she’s
happy to be associated with a brand that is affordable.
“I love its vintage dashiki for both men and women.”
