THIS country definitely has talent!
Sunday saw the grand finale of SA’s Got Talent
hosted by comedian Tol A$$ Mo with many thrills and chills.
Asked how he felt about the show, he said: “It’s an honour since
this was the first time I’ve hosted a live show with better ratings than Idols.”
The six finalists included Jesse Govender, who sang his heart out,
as well as Derek Plaatjies who also entertained the finale audience.
The Professionals proved that pantsula will live on forever.
Manila Von Teez also gave a spectacular drag performance.
“Honestly, I was very proud of the winners, and I would definitely
work with them and the other finalists,” she said.
Phoenix didn’t make it to the final top three, but also gave a
killer performance.
And audience favourite Kryptonite Dance Academy didn’t disappoint
at all.
They closed off the show with a bang.
One could cut the tension with a knife before the results came in.
Then Kryptonite were announced as the winners, walking away with a
cool R500 000.
Their dance leader Eugene Baloyi told SunBuzz: “We
never thought a hip hop group would win.
“We are so overwhelmed by the support from the Mzansi audience.”
“Not only parents but even dancers were supporting the group,”
added co-founder Zoyi Muendane.
Eugene said: “This show was a great platform to introduce ourselves
to Mzansi because three years back we were blessed to travel overseas and were
crowned world champions.”
The group always makes sure that education comes first for its
members and during auditions dancers would be studying while others were
practising their moves.
The group will use their prize money to upgrade their dance studio
in Centurion.
