JAZZ legend and music producer Rudi Mbele is back in Mzansi to perform in front of his home crowd.

Born in Mofolo North in Soweto, Rudi immigrated to the US 13 years ago.

His first biggest show will take place next Friday at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani.

He will share the stage with Grammy award-winning group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Afro soul jazz group Eyami and other young up- and-coming musicians.

Rudi told SunBuzz: “This show is for my diehard fans. They have been asking me to come back home to sing for them.”

He said he will sing his world-famous songs Burning Soul, which was included in New York’s Top 40, and Celebration in the Motherland.

His 2010 Fifa World Cup song Celebration in the Motherland received a nomination at the Samas in 2011.

The talented musician holds a bachelor of science degree in economics, a soccer coaching diploma and a studio engineering diploma from the City University of New York.

He is also planning to take young talented soccer stars with him to the US in September.

“The scholarship is only offered to kasi kids who have passed matric,” said Rudi.

He recently released a new song titled Sweet Soweto.

General access tickets are selling at R150 and VIP at R250.
