RAPPER Riky Rick was shocked when he realised a verse he had recorded for a certain track had been used in another song without his permission.
The trouble started when new WolfPack singer, Khumz (19) used the verse on his new track, Lil Ghetto.
Khumz, whose real name is Khumbulani Mbatha, first released a version of Lil Ghetto featuring Aewon Wolf, but he later released a second version with Riky’s verse.
When Khumz’s recording company realised on Tuesday that Riky, whose real name is Rikhado Makhado, was not impressed by the move, they issued an apology on Twitter.
When the SunTeam got hold of WolfPack co-founder, Sketchy Bongo, yesterday, he said he was out of the country.
“I’m currently on international roaming.
“Rather send me an email regarding the matter.”
But he didn’t reply to the email.
However, he posted on Twitter: “We would like to formally apologise to Riky Rick for releasing an unauthorised verse of his.”
A statement he attached to his tweet stated that Riky’s verse was recorded for a track of another artist they work with.
It read: “This was immoral and won’t happen again.”
Khumz, who previously told Daily Sun he started singing at the age of seven, was not available for comment.
But he tweeted: “So sorry, Riky Rick.
“I sincerely apologise, sir.”
Riky’s manager, Bianca Naidoo, was not available for comment as her cellphone was off.
When the SunTeam contacted his recording label, public relations manager Tumi Moatshe said: “Riky Rick said the matter has been resolved.”
