RADIOMAN Jabulani Kekana was shot dead at Elanga East Lodge in Temba, north of Pretoria, on Friday afternoon.

He was the station manager at Moretele Community Radio which was started in 1977.

Temba police spokesman Constable Herman Moremi confirmed the incident.

He said the two men allegedly arrived at the lodge pretending to look for a room.

“We can confirm a 42-year-old businessman and local radio station manager was shot and killed at his lodge.

“The two armed men allegedly entered Elanga East Lodge and instructed the staff to lie down. They took their cellphones.”

He said the thugs then went to room 11 and found Kekana there.

“They tied his hands together and shot him twice in the upper body. He was certified dead on the scene.

“The motive for the killing is unknown,” said Moremi. He said a case of murder has been opened for further investigation.
