Some of Mzansi’s favourite celebs went head-to-head yesterday in a celebrity cook-off for a good course.
The ACE Celebrity Cook-off brought together South African household names like Thembisa Mdoda, Luthando ‘Lootlove’ Shosha, Vuyolwethu Ngcukana, Penny Lebyane, and Masechaba Ndlovu amongst others, in a bid to feed 3 000 people.
The celebs joined forces with ordinary citizens at the Orlando Community Hall in Soweto where they cooked tasty and nutritious meals to feed the masses.
And it all took place within just 30 minutes.
The event was inspired by ACE's latest innovation, the Quick Cook Samp which takes just 30 minutes to prepare.
But, in additional to the cook-off, SA ‘s iconic brand, ACE, vowed to make a goods donation worth R10 000 to charity in the name of each celebrity who participated in the cook-off.
ACE says that it believes that cooking a nutritious and tasty meal should not take you all day, and they have proven it by taking the challenge to provide what was a delicious, nutritious treat and educated the Soweto community on how to cook a well balanced meal – in just 30 minutes.
“We are so excited to really have achieved exactly what we set out to do with ACE in Orlando. We fed 3000 with our ACE Quick Cook Samp in just 30 minutes! That is definitely time well spent,” said the Marketing Manager for Milling at Tiger Brands, Neo Dikamotse.
