SINGER Busisiwe Thwala, better known as Cici, has decided to break her silence after allegedly being assaulted recently.

She posted a horrific photo on Instagram showing a huge incision scar she was left with after she had surgery to her pelvis.

The picture was accompanied with the hashtag #Breakthesilence. Cici wrote: “The operation was a success. Wish to walk again.”

Cici had to have a hip replacement, which is common surgery where a damaged hip joint is replaced with an artificial one.

Cici’s post comes after it was reported that her boyfriend, kwaito singer Arthur Mafokate, had allegedly assaulted her.

The news broke last Sunday after she opened an assault case against him.

Cici alleged that he had dragged her behind his car after the pair got into an argument.

Daily Sun spoke to her sister and manager, Sannah, who said Cici was recovering well.

“The operation was a success and I’m taking care of her. The doctors have given her six weeks to recover,” she said.

Sannah said she was not able to talk about the assault case as it was before court.

Cici first made a name for herself with her hit single, Runaway, after winning a talent competition hosted by the South African Arts and Development Association, a non-profit organisation established by Arthur two years ago.

When asked about the assault case, Arthur told Sunday Sun: “The matter is sub judice. I’ll reveal all the explosive details in court and I will clear my name. I’m not taking this lying down.”

Gauteng provincial spokesman Captain Kay Makhubele said a case was opened at Midrand Police Station.

He said Arthur was arrested and released on R500 bail and would appear in the Midrand Magistrates Court soon.
