CONTROVERSIAL TV host and veteran radio personality Majotha Khambule better known as Phat Joe yesterday (Monday) officially began his duties at KZN’s commercial radio station, East Coast Radio (ECR).

Phat Joe who hosts SABC 1’s gossip and entertainment show The Real Goboza, now hosts ECR’s drive time show from 3 to 6pm.

The former Metro FM presenter said he was looking forward to chill in Durban.

Phat Joe said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for me. Not only will I get to chill in Durban, but I also get to interact with the cool listeners of East Coast Radio on a daily basis. I think we are going to have a lot of fun together!”

The controversial presenter was the host of Metro FM’s breakfast show on Saturday before he joined ECR.

ECR’s programmes manager Zane Derbyshire said they are delighted to welcome Phat Joe to the station’s daily line-up.

“Phat Joe continues to be one of South Africa’s favourites with his brave approach to keep listeners tuned-in. He is a great fit to our line-up, bringing a wealth of experience. At the station, we pride ourselves on our core of talented presenters who deliver world-class entertainment to our audience on a daily basis. The addition of a personality in the form of Phat Joe just takes us up another notch. We are looking forward to introducing him to our listeners,” he said.
