OUTSTANDING make-up artist Nthato Mashishi was allegedly dealt a double blow.
According to sources, Nthato was fired from two prominent TV shows on SABC3.
The sources said Nthato was released from Top Billing and Afternoon Express as a make-up artist.
A source said Nthato received the bad news over the phone.
But Nthato has no idea what our sources are talking about.
“I have not been dropped, I am still shooting with Top Billing and Afternoon Express,” he said.
One of the production crew members said this is no surprise as Nthato’s job was always on the line.
Another mole said Nthato was moaning at a magazine photo shoot earlier last week, about how he was unfairly dismissed without warning.
The mole added: “Don’t get it wrong, Nthato’s one of the best in the game, but sometimes he doesn’t know where to draw the line.”
The mole said the production crew got tired of Nthato breaking confidentiality of clients with gossip.
The mole went on: “Somehow they don’t like his conduct.”
Another source said Basetsana Kumalo, who also directors Top Billing, broke the bad news to Nthato.
“But she still uses him on a personal basis,” the source said.
The source went on to say sometimes Nthato forgets he’s not the subject of the shoot: “Nthato doesn’t know his place, sometimes he wants to compete with the client. He’s also a diva.”
The source added it remains unclear who’s going to replace Nthato.
“There are potential candidates such as Vuyo Varoyi and others,” the source said.
Nthato is also a personal make-up artist to big stars such as Nhlanhla Nciza and Bonang Matheba.
