THESE beauty queens are already swimming in money.

“I have never had R25 000 to my name so it’s very exciting,” said Nompumelelo Mampholo from Diepkloof, Soweto after receiving R25 000 for being a finalist in the Miss South Africa 2017 pageant.

“I feel as if I won the lottery.

“I’ll put the money in a savings account and hold on to it for as long as I can.”

All 12 contestants competing for the title of Miss South Africa received R25 000.

The beauty pageant will be held at the Sun City Superbowl on 26 March and broadcast live on M-Net and Mzansi Magic.

This year’s winner will receive R1 million in cash from sponsors Sun International and Cell C.

The pageant is one of the richest of its kind in the world.

Judges for the pageant include Maps Maponyane, Bridget Masinga and Ezra Davids.

More celebrity judges will be announced shortly.

For the first time in the history of the pageant, members of the public can vote.

Anyone can enter by sending an SMS with the number of their favourite finalist to 45791.

SMS will cost R1,50 and proceeds from the competition will benefit the Cell C Girl Child Bursary Fund.

Five lucky voters will also win a weekend trip to The Palace at Sun City.

They will also win VIP tickets to attend the pageant and the after party at Sun City.
