ANTONIO Masekela (26) and Nelson “Skay” Sekoele (25) have one thing in common – dance and music.

The hip hop artists from Polokwane, Limpopo call themselves Mexican Boys.

They recently released a single titled Skankokotela.

“The song warns people to stop forcing others to party,” Antonio told SunBuzz.

He said they first met at the University of Limpopo, where they were both students.

“We were both dancers and loved music with all our hearts. That’s where we came up with the name Mexican Boys.”

The friends said they want to see themselves leading the pack in the music industry.

“We will do everything in our power to make it happen,” said Nelson.

They have performed at big events like Redbull Studio Live, Knock Knock Spring and Major League Gardens.

They’ve also shared the stage with famous artists such as DJs Maphorisa, and Black Coffee as well as the bands Black Motion and Distruction Boyz.

“We’d like to see ourselves working with international artists like Davido,” said Antonio.
